What kind of food adventures have I been getting in to? I got my local strawberries that I have been craving. And I gorged on them until sick! Just like the old days!
I did not get to do the usual picking event, but there was roadside stand on the way back from Whidbey Island 4th of July weekend. Got the small flat and proceeded to eat my way through it.....and it was heaven.
On another happy strawberry note, we went to Chinooks a couple of times for summer birthdays and they had strawberry shortcake on the menu. Strawberries picked fresh from a Kent farm just that morning. It makes a difference!
My advice to you -- always go local. These little jewels are a whole different ball game. Just like I remember.
